We adopted a 2 year old rescue dog (2023) with alot of energy and "leash reactiveness" that could have been interpreted as agressive behaviour. We found out about a play group for small dogs and decided to attend with our dog, Luv. Our purpose was for Luv to socialize with and play with other dogs. Janelle, as the facilitator of these play dates, observed Luv's introduction to the group and spent some time with us too. It became quickly apparent that she was very knowledgeable about dogs and their behaviours and was willing to share information with dog parents on how to manage situations as they arise (in effect training us to help better understand the behaviour in question and how to help our dogs).

It will be two years this summer that Luv has been attending the weekly play dates as well as a "Good Manners Dog Training" course. We have learned so much from Janelle.  Thank-you.

I met Jannelle in December 2023. I had adopted a puppy by the name of Rosie.
Not having much experience with a young puppy, I searched on Facebook about small dog groups and training.
Jannelle not only taught the class with enthusiasm and caring. I was so impressed with her knowledge and her empathy with dogs and humans. I had taken one other class with someone else  prior, there was no comparison. As Rosie was growing, she developed a limp. Every week at playgroup, Jannelle would check up on Rosie. When Rosie had surgery, Jannelle was always checking up on her every day. Jannelle is one of Rosie‘s favourite people,Rosie is always giving a her a kiss.
The play group that Jannelle runs is so awesome. It’s always fun for the dogs and the adults. we celebrate every holiday. There is always a table put out of treats for both dogs and humans.
We have things like beach day(with a little pool set up for the pups,), Valentine’s parties, Christmas, New Year’s, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc. Our puppies have learnt how to meet and greet, how to express dislike without aggression, how to share, how to play, also we have agility day in our playgroup. Having owned a dog before I never knew about all these different things that you can do with your puppy.(I have also seen people who cannot afford playgroup and have never been turned away or treated differently by Jannelle). I have never seen Jannelle cancel a playgroup, even if  she was sick.
I call Jannelle  the dog whisperer. I feel blessed to know Jannelle as she has taught me all these things. Jannelle is very good and trustworthy friend.

Thank you very much

Janelle runs an awesome playgroup for small, sociable dogs!  The events are creative, inventive, and fun!  She oversees it well and has the experience and knowledge to provide good advice and guidance to all.  My dog, who is not super into physical play, quite enjoys simply being around other dogs, watching their shenanigans, and politely sniffing the most interesting butts. ----Renee M (and Chanel too!)
